Extremadura is perhaps the best region in Spain for birding. It sits inland in the southwest of the country, bordering Portugal to the west. Over 300 bird species are recorded here each year, and it holds some of the largest numbers of wintering birds in Western Europe. Depending on the season, I can meet you at your accommodation and take you out for a magical day finding many of the region's iconic birds, like Great and Little Bustards and Black-bellied and Pin-tailed Sandgrouse.
